Position Description:
The Regional Clinical Sales Manager plays a critical role in building and developing the MAKOplasty Specialist Team within their assigned region. Responsibilities include managing and directing the clinical utilization of the RIO® System within its installed base, managing individual’s business plans to optimize implant growth, managing account launches and coordinating resources.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the recruitment, training/mentoring, and performance appraisals of MAKOplasty Specialist team.
- Develop and implement clinical sales activities to achieve and exceed goals set by Senior Management.
- Lead and manage the site launch process.
- Ensure timely reporting on customer complaints, service requests and case documentation.
- Partner with customer, field service, training and marketing to ensure highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Maintain communications MAKO account executives to ensure superior customer service for all regional accounts.
- Provide forecast input to senior management.
- Provide customer requirements to product manager for new designs and support associated design & product documentation reviews.
- Provide resources to participate in the evaluation and validation of new product.
- Travel with MPS’ to coach, evaluate clinical and sales skills and to solicit surgeon/account feedback.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the MPS Team, take necessary corrective action, immediately and directly. Provide clear direction and opportunity for improvement. Communicate any corrective actions to senior management.
- Prepare and submit all requested reports and documentation in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
- Submit and present bi-annual business plans for each account in region.
- Prepare and conduct employee evaluations or reviews.
- Operate within a set budget and approve field expense reports.
- Schedule relief personnel to cover vacations, absences, and training as needed.
- Ensure that company policy is understood and followed by direct reports.
- Prospect, interview and hire new employees when/where applicable as directed by senior management.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 year experience in clinical sales; minimum of 2 years management/supervisory experience.
- Proven track record in clinical sales.
- In-depth knowledge of Operating Room Environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent follow through and attention to detail.
- Up to 75% travel.
