Interface Designer & Usability Specialist

Job Description:
Collect, analyze, and use data to simplify user interactions with company products and services, thus significantly improving the efficiency in the use of the product. Establish interface goals and objectives. Collect voice of customer reaction to hardware and software design concepts; conduct simulations, tests, and evaluations of proposed interface designs. Develop final product specifications (templates, style guides, test protocol), and conduct product release evaluations for designs. Overall goal is to achieve functional elegance, intuitive operation and high efficiency of all company products.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal usability test measuring UI issues including performance, accuracy, efficiency, recall and transference based on best practices
- Aligns individual contributions with project and business goals to achieve milestone & objectives
- Using VOC, and product goal criteria, develops and implements test and evaluation plans
- Optimizes resources and manages constraints impacting achievement of immediate project objectives through collaboration across functional lines
- Works to established schedules and budgets
- Translates technical and non-technical ideas into project deliverables such as sketches, mock-ups, task flow diagrams, interaction models, storyboards, and prototypes
- Develops and proposes original initial design ideas and alternatives
- Conducts, or manages design/ customer research necessary to inform program & product development resources
- Develops design business cases and works to integrate solution into broader proposals and strategies
- Demonstrates skill and experience in latest simulation techniques (including electronic, code generating tools)
- Develops, implements, and reports user satisfaction survey results for each product, post release
- Prepares reaction plan to implement survey results
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in UI Design, and equivalent work experience in specific design discipline associated with role
- 3-5 years working in similar design discipline
- Medical device design experience preferred
- Proficiency in developing graphic design solutions representing the result of studies and surveys
- Work on multiple projects concurrently in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong oral and written communications skills are required
- DAbility to travel 30% of the time
